Despotic. Uncompromising. Imposing.
Masks can be interpreted as a representation of the multiple identities that each individual can take on in daily life. The conflict between the mask and reality, between fiction and truth. A reflection on human identity and the complexity of the human psyche. Disguise was a way of upending reality and leveling social orders in the 15th century by disguising yourself as what you were not. A collection of images of Carnival masks with their multiple characters in this photographic solo exhibition hosted in an exhibition environment in Casarredo.
