A way to peace. Conscientious objection: history and testimonies, with a look at the present

The conscientious objection to military service is the result of a struggle that lasted over 25 years that involved movements, intellectuals, politicians, priests, Christians of different denominations, libertarians, anarchists, and especially those 706 young people, to whose request to be able to serve the country without weapons, the State has opposed a harsh refusal and prison sentences.

With Dr. Marco Labbate will retrace the struggles of those young people who intersect the repercussions of the Second World War, the Cold War, the atomic threat, the renewal of Catholicism, the youth protest.

The meeting will be enriched by the reading of civil testimonies, edited by the theatre company Nouvelle Plague.
