Its essence can be captured by walking through the streets of the city and tasting the dishes of the local tradition.
Fano Gastronomica is the project that unites the restaurants of the city of Fano in the name of tradition, in a sustainable perspective of a short supply chain and zero mile.
Local restaurateurs and fishermen work together to support and safeguard the genuineness and freshness of food.
The Fano Seaside Restaurant Network brings to the table the original flavors of selected local fish, coming from artisanal fishing and aquaculture in the area.

Being an establishment recognized as a «Ristorante del Mare di Fano» means taking responsibility for adequately enhancing the local fish product, adhering to the guidelines and rules set forth in the specification. Participants commit themselves to the territory and its population, to support sustainable fishing and to guarantee a daily supply of quality fresh fish.
The specification provides that at least three dishes based on local fish are offered on the menu, which enhance the network with the fishing companies of the area. The commission responsible for verifying that the premises are suitable for receiving the certification is made up of: Fiorenzo Giammattei (doctor and gastronome), Corrado Piccinetti (professor of ecology and former director of the Fano marine biology and fishing laboratory) and Otello Renzi (sommelier gastronomy expert).
